CAMRA Winter Ales Festival
The Mayor and Mayoress opened the CAMRA winter ales festival at the Town Hall on Friday 1st February. The Festival was, as usual, well attended and a great time seemed to be had by all!
The Mayor was presented with his own engraved pint glass and sampled just a small amount of the beers on offer. The Festival glasses this year were printed with Dover Town Council and the Festival of Dover 2008, in addition to the CAMRA logo as the Town Council sponsored part of the glasses costs as part of its contribution to the Festival.
Councillor Mrs Veronica Philpott and Mrs Georgette Rapley attended the event to sell lottery tickets for the Mayor of Dover’s Goodwill Fund, a charity which helps local causes. The first prize is a 12 day Baltic cruise, the draw will take place at the Mayor’s Grand Spring Ball at the Town Hall on 7th March 2008.
