Dover's first kite festival is due to take place on 26th and 27th July.   The Kite Society of Great Britain are organising this Town Council Sponsored event as part of the Festival of Dover 2008.

A similar event at Margate last year attracted 8,000 visitors and we are expecting International teams from Belgium and Holland..

There will be (weather permitting) kiting displays,  fighting kites,  wind sculptures, kite workshops for children stalls and refreshments.

Some of the giant kites are up to 80 feet long and will be spectacularly displayed at the venue (playing fields opposite Boys Grammar School), with kind permission from Astor school, who own the site.

This should be a fantastic weekend for young and old alike and is expected to run from 10am to 4pm each day.

We look forward to seeing you there !
